Finals and Las Vegas and Stuff(tm)

So this last quarter I had a real love hate relationship with some of my classes. I let it seriously affect my motivation and how I went about doing certain things like, oh, attending class in some instances. In other manifestations I allowed myself to slip too far behind in certain reviews. End result, I’ve got pass grades in my Physics lab and upper division technical writing class. I ended up not going to my statistics math final because the only way to get a passing grade would have been to score a 98% on the final. In a class I hadn’t even ever gotten that kind of percentage on a midterm, let alone a quiz. My programming theory class, ICS 141 I am almost positive I will recieve a D in and all because I wasn’t able to make it to a damn 8AM class consistently. My digital logic design class ICS 151 I suspect I am also getting a D in too but I can’t confirm it yet for sure but my initial calculations seem to point that way.

Of course I start up summer session classes in about a week and a half. I’ll have to flip one class around to make up for these changes. I’ll still be taking ICS 52 and ICS 143 but ICS 142 will have to wait. I cant take ICS 141 in the summer because it would conflict with ICS 52, which I *HAVE* to get done ASAP because of the stupid dependancies these upper division ICS courses have. This also has repercussions on my Fall 2006 class schedule of course, it will have to entirely change almost I suspect. I’m going to try and do CS 132 (computer networking) along with my two upper division math classes, but both of them have Stats 67 as a prereuq. I could possibly see if they will let me take Math 67 at the same time as the other classes so then I’d have 3 math classes and a comp sci track class. This also means that the slim window of possibility for being done at the end of summer of 2007 are out the window now. Then again that window was already lost when I discovered that the OS Internals project course in Fall 2006 I was interested in was only 30 slots big and was filled up long before the ICS Undergrad Dept had even began to get around to taking care of fixing the broken records and dependancies for my transcript records that the UCI WebReg system relies on.

So yeah I fucked that one up good and only have myself to blame for it. Time to regroup and make it unbroken now.

Also this last weekend was my good friend Trina’s 30th birthday and I went out to Las Vegas with her, Steve and Matt after I was done with my last final. Vegas was a lot of fun and I am really glad Trina had a great birthday. Personally for me however the trip was a loss due to ending up 300 buck in the hole, but then agains thats what I budgeted for myself so I still have plenty of money in the bank for bills and other things that need to be taken cared of. However, had I had slightly better judgement during my gambling stint I would have only been down about 100 bucks for the trip. Didn’t really run into any interesting women when in Vegas but I chalk that up to having to deal with Trina’s friend Kat who would being a major sour puss of sorts so due to how things ended up working out scheduling wise I didnt really have a lot of alone time which isnt a horrible thing, but might have contributed to more possibilities perhaps, you never know. I’ve got about 70 photos or so from the trip and theyll go up later tonight. Also hung out with Tim and Jen in Vegas at Quark’s finally! now that I’ve had both a Borg Shpere and a Warp Core Breach I think I can get a handle on how to make the borg sphere next time.

On the trip back from Vegas however a funny thing happened, I discovered that Trina didn’t know it had been 4 years since I had last done the deed with any woman. Guess that surprised her! I could have sworn I told her about it previously though, oh well, she knows now! No harm done.

This week I am alternately working or attempting to fuck off and hang out with friends I havent seen in a while. If you want to do something get a hold of me via my cellphone or on IM. I’m out for now.
