Google WiFi? at Daniel Spisak on Technology

Well folks, it looks like Google is going to be rolling out a WiFi network, initally in the San Francisco area. It remains to be seen if Google pushes this nationwide but I can’t imagine why they wouldn’t try to do it. More importantly, Google has a Secure Access Client to be used with the WiFi. However the free VPN client is for Windows only at the moment. I wonder why Google just doesn’t embrace the use of WPA or even WPA2 for their WiFi networks as its certainly fairly secure. Of course, if one uses the Google Secure Access client their traffic undoubtedly will be subhjected to analysis by Google to some end. If this is nefarious or is just used to figure out how to better place ads remains to be seen but I am sure there is some method to this madness.
