Updating and whatnot at Daniel Spisak on Technology

Well I had plans for tonight with a ladyfriend but she had to reschedule for tomorrow to take care of something important so it looks like I will head out to Denny’s tonight.

I should be getting a copy of Halo 2 from Microsoft’s PR people to review shortly, that should be fun. Went down to the Westminister Mall last night for the Halo 2 Midnight Madness and it was quite a turnout, easily 10x bigger then I had expected.

Bills are getting paid off slowly but surely. I have not forgotten what I owe my friends, hopefully I can start paying them back soon so I can get that chain off my neck.

It looks like there is someone in Long Beach who I might have a shot at going out on a date with in the near future. This makes me happy, huzzah for hope.

This weekend is Las Vegas trip, still trying to make it but I have to evaluate my finances and decide soon.

Seems like a variety of neat things will be going on this weekend. I hate it when that happens, it always seems to happen when I’ve had long term plans for something.

Have to finish my paperwork for applying for my transfer to UCI. Of course, reading the bloody article in The Washington Post linked from Slashdot about low to underemployed IT workers was really grim reading and makes me question my whole plan on finishing getting my CS degree. On the other hand my friend Rob recently landed himself a good paying job and he had been looking for nearly two years, but then again he has a PhD in AI from UCI so I’m not sure how applicable his plight is to my own situation.

I might be writing a book about e-commerce security. For money, natch! Way too early to tell how serious the offer is or if it will even turn into anything yet.
